Hi, wonder if anyone could help me here. My minis fuel gauge always reads 2/3's full! I've replaced the sender, and the dial twice. Also it had complete new wiring in it only a year ago. The car was an Spi, but now running HIF44 with 'charger. The tank was changed at the time of convertion to a pre injection one so I didn't have the fuel pump inside it.

Any ideas?

Stoke-on-Trent. Duck.

Does "always" include when the ignition is off? Or does it drop to zero with the ign off?

Have you tried just 2 direct wires from the sender to the gauge, see what that does?

Yeah it turns off when not in use. Haven't tried two direct wires though.

Mine was the spi tank, then chaned to a pre injection one. I had a spi sender in that, and that went from full to 1/2 full then just dropped completly! Changed the sender last week hoping it was readin wrong because of that, but still gettin incorrect readings.

fuel gauges are funny fuckers Rich,

the voltage stabaliser can cause issues between old an new types, you need to check tht you have the same voltage to the gauge/sender running and not running.

If you get stuck i can pop over and take a looksie, I need to drop in Andy's RTS bits anyway.
