While the engine is out drill and tap behind followers so they can be held up with brass screws to change cam,blank off with short screws (bottomed out) for normal use.

not always , use a soft floor .DC. Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

Bollocks, you're all wrong. Little magnets from "fridge magnets" glue them to bits of dowel, lift the followers, lock off with clothes pegs.
