Hey looking for a bit of advice with the mini. Here's a bit of history -

its a 92 spi cooper in excellent condition. the mini got vandalised last year and we claimed on our insurance. They paid out something in the region of £2.5k for a full re-spray, maybe a little more. - someone keyed the whole car. this got done so its in good condition.

We changed insurance company when it was time to renew. Last week i crashed it. :( My fault, didn’t see someone on the motorway, small damage to both front wing, went into the barrier backwards hitting the passenger rear lights and bent the rear subframe a little.

The price for these repairs came to £2494, Insurance said its a write off and have offered us £1600, and told me it had been written off in 1999 (before we got it) - no agreed value.

Obviously last year they valued it at a bit more than that to pay out 2.5 k to spray it.

How do i prove its worth more? will last years insurance company have a report from when they valued it?

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Normally you have to send them a letter, listing why, and with adverts of similar cars with the values that will give you what you want

Quite often they will go in with a low value you just have to argue the price up and stand your ground
