1275 How Much?

I've been searching for a 1275 to use as the base of my project for about 3 months now but everything i've seen is going (to what i would consider) well over the odds. Am i just being to tight with the spending
Im trying to get one for about £150-£200 or a hole mini (obviously a bit of a heap) for about £400 as i know a friend who would buy the rest.
So am i just blindly hoping at this price or is ebay just bumping prices sky high as per normal?

its put a big hole in my pocket this year so ill continue to look in january

Ihave seen some (and lets be kind about this) road legal minis with passable paint jobs ( and thats very kind) go for over a grand and we are talking 1000cc engine

Prices have gone silly. I'm keeping my eyes open for an engine to rebuild. They only ever seem to come up at the right price when I can't get them!

Looking for something more complete then that but was just checking i wasn't hoping to much

and apbellamy tell me about it all the ones i could have bought (including one with subframe brakes driveshafts and front wheels for £10) all were way to far away for me to even consider :(

Ill do you a sub frame, disks and drive shafts for a decent price. about 2 hours away from you

dont need them its the engine i need was just making the point stuffs to far for me to consider when its cheap haha

I try to make a day of it when i go to collect items from a far.

Yeah same normaly but i got to give petrol money to my stepdad so he can get it in his van for me, boosts the price about £50 if its to far so the closer the better on that reason!

i know what you mean, every thing is always Scotland Wales or London, i bought some wellers from rich on here for a good price ( id been waiting a while for a set) ended up costing more than double due to fuel and a 10 n half hour round trip :), it was worth it though just for the road trip, but for engines id have to go in the mini so cannot pick up whole units and dont want to get oil every where in the other car :(

I dont see 1275s for under $2000 in sketchy condition (import engines from japan which i wouldnt trust).

I made a wooden base that fits over the cross member, spreading the weight on the cross member and the front and rear floors.

Used this trick loads, doors still shut, but yes wouldn't want a full engine on just the front floor.
