Hi all,

Just about to place my order to do a full rebuild/replacement of gearbox internals.
however mini spares tell me the 1/2 Syncro Hub - DAM7455 is not available at the moment and may not be till April or so.
I am rebuilding a A series remote box (22G1128) anmd using the SCCR kit C-AJJ4014.

As i want to replace everything in the box can anyone confirm for me if another brand (minisport/minispeed etc etc)syncro hubs be used if i cant get the minispares one?

thanks guys.

Um no the syncro hub, the section the selector fork slides, think locks onto the gear to drive it.
I'll try and get a pic for you.

They shouldnt need replacing, unless as Carl says, theyre badly worn. If they are a good second hand one will suffice.

I seriously doubt it!

as above, they should be ok unless the box has had baulk ring issues, in which case the teeth inside get the tips rounded off, if they are still fairly sharp uses them.

Got a pic of yours?

thanks guys,
I will have a closer look when i strip the box down, i have never had any issues when changing gear so they should be ok still, the only reason i am fitting the SCCR gears is because i took 2 teeth off the pinion gear and i thought i would just put the gears in for added strength and reliability, i have been running this same gearbox now over 5 years now and its been great but thought if the pinion was letting go who knows how much longer the gears will hold out for.
its the original gears and syncro hubs from the box built in 1970(remote), surely they cant last for ever with this sort of HP.

Syncro hubs get worn by bad baulk rings, not hp.

well i have had a look and they do seem to be ok, but i have found one here in Oz from a company that buy direct from minispares, it was their last one..
and i got it for 220 AUS so around the 120squid mark.

no gearbox rebuild is cheep but i want to replace pretty much everything i can to ensure its all top notch.
from a sc primary gear to a new 3.2 CWP. its all new.

thanks guys
