Hi!

Am I right in thinking that the laygear & shaft are only fed with oil that finds it way through the smal holes in the layshaft or can squeeze passt the thrust washers?

Or does the rotation/centrifugal force have like a pump effect (rotation forces oil out via the thrust washer ends and draws oil through the shaft) on oil circulation?

If so - could it work to drill a hole in the laygear so more oil gets out and then in? Or any other ideas to improve oil feed to the layshaft? :)

Regards,
Jan

Hi Jimster! I hope this doesn't sound like a lame excuse (it isn't, honest! :)); but I didn't find much when I was searching... Pointers for the right words to search for...? :/

I found mini13's thread about pressure feeding the laygear/shaft assembly - but that's a bit 'over the top' for what I'm after...

Best regards,
Jan *smiley*

Hello, Did this to the spare race transmission also in the process the SC/CR laygear was knackered in the small bearing area pressed in a bronze 660 bush to take the bearings place and pressure fed the end of the layshaft through the flywheel housing using an fittings. have not run it. but it is a common repair with the spridget guys.
