He's hit an ARMCO end on at considerable speed.

I've sifted through my fair share of high energy impacts trying to make sure that I've got all of the bits the patient got into the car with. To be fair to the car and NCAP points, there's only so much protection you can enjoy in the safest of cars when you hit something solid at a high enough speed.

If the penetrating/blunt trauma doesn't get you there's a fair chance the deceleration injuries will.

i picked up a fiesta out of railings last year, the handle from the railing was pocking out the dash about a foot
