Whats the best method of getting rid of hammerite?
Whole engine bay is done in the stuff! Sand blasting is an option, but prefer to keep motor at home and remove it myself.

Turbophil had a butt plug made that seemed to be suitable. He may have finished with it now and have it kicking around spare

I nitromorsed the MG, at the time Woolworths had it on sale for £2 a litre, the girl on the check out thought I was a bit weird buying half a dozen tins mind. Put an old trap down first and then bin the trap afterwards it's the easiest way to deal with the mess.

Make sure you give it a bloody good clean once the paint is off. Any slightest trace of nitromorse left behind and you'll be stripping the new paint off again!

Jason,

Wilkinsons own brand stripper is supposed to be vertually the same as nitromoors,

check on the tin that it contains Disomthingorother methane. *wink*
