Well at the moment in building a fairly standard turbo engine:

1275, standard bore, with new rings
MG metro cam
T3 turbo
Magajolt

Now i know it would be best for me to use a xpin diff over a standard diff, but iv seen you can buy just a uprated diff pin for the standard diff.

So was just wondering if it worth spending the extra money on a x-pin diff or will a standard diff with uprated pin be up to it?

Only with the extra money i could get more work to the head done...

I go cross pin, allthough never used an uprated pin i carnt see it being much stronger than standard.

The thing with the cross pin is its fit and forget, as far as im aware there unbreakable.

Yea thats a very true point, i used a xpin in my old 1380 for the fact i could just fit it and not have to worry about it.

Thanks for posting up the link robert, thats just confirmed for me an uprated diff pin just really isnt up to the job, although you did say it was ok at 125bhp, it only started causing problems once you upped the power to 150bhp...

But i think ill put the money towards the diff, then put it into a head once iv got some more cash. as that can easily be done at a later date.
