starting to strip down an mpi this week for a full resto, anything to watch out for when removing the engine?
done loads on carb'd minis but never an injection one

secondly any recomendations an fd choice? ive got a spare 3.44 but not sure if this is overkill or a 3.1 would be better suited taking into account it will do very little motorway work

few more wires so you might wanna lable stuff.

fuel pressure higher watch you dont get a squirt of petrol in ya eyes when you undo fuel pipes.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

be careful with the crank and cam sensors - you can easily damage them.

Other than that all the wires and plugs are fairly obviously colour coded/routed so a few labels and you'll be ok with them.

Other than that its the same as any other mini engine.

Yeah, unleaded in the eye is a tad painful. I'd suggest removing the fuse from the fuel pump and start it up before disconnecting the fuel lines.

If I had a tenner for every time some one has damaged the cam sensor removing the engine, not knowing it was there.

oh and very little motorway driving? go with the 3.44 FD*happy*

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
