right first off i need to mod it for roller rockers so as far as im aware i need to grind back the back corners a little?

also what is the best way to have my breathers into a catch tank
do i need to get 2 take offs, one each side on my rocker cover then have crank case going into rocker cover then the other one to my catchtank?

There is no need to put the crank case breather into the rocker, just pipe one from the rocker and one from the crank case into a catch tank. Better still get more than one off the crank case.

The other thing with these rocker covers is that they have a flat spot to the right of the filler cap.

I have one and was going to drill + tap for a banjo bolt to put a breather pipe on, but I have a better rocker cover now...

Hi.

Yeah. I think on most aftermarket alloy rocker covers, it's the two rear inner corners that are generally the areas that require relieving with a die grinder or dremel when fitting hi-lift rockers. I had to do this on my early cover before I bought a standard sloping MGT ribbed alloy cover from MiniSpares - that didn't require any mods at all.

I've attached a pic of my breather install on the van which has two K&N engine breathers. This may be of use.

One breather filter is fitted to a 1/2 inch 90 elbow, JB welded into the back of the rocker cover and the other one is fitted on the outlet of the transfer gear case. My pipe from the rocker that goes down past the intercooler pipe, actually T's into the transfer case breather.

I do not have a breather on the timing cover as I have an early belt drive which does away with the breather outlet.

The important thing to remember is that whatever setup you decide, and this includes the simple solution of pipes from your timing cover, rocker and transfer case going into a catch tank with a breather on top, it's important to keep a free and easy exit route for blow-by gases as they escape past the piston rings otherwise the sump gets pressurised and this can lead to blowing oil out past the g/box U seal, timing cover seal, diff seals and clutch oil seal. Also to remember that when the engine cools, it tends to suck fresh air back in, so ideally, it needs to be filtered.

Best of luck with your setup whatever you chose.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
