I'm of the Vizard school of taught and finish them rough with 80 grit to try help keep fuel in suspension, this in turn IMO reduces top ring land power loss due to raw fuel cylinder wall wetting. there is theory to support that a very finely polished port flows more but its not all about flow,

Pour some grit sand into the carb whilst running this method will ensure good even porting!

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.
