I have a track planned end of April, my car is not on the road yet so no way it is turboed in time so what can I do to enhance it ?

Here is the spec :

998 A+ (was pulling 4800 rpm in 4th in standart trim so healthy)
K&N in 80's standart filter box less cold air flap (not the 90's inbuilt cold air flap box)
modded HS4 (elbow, piston, piston area, shaft)
BL iron inlet extented 3/8"
standart 998 head appart from rounding of the edge on inlets (to care for misalignement of the inlet)
Freeflow exhaust (can use an LCB but it is medium bore so too big)
Twin box RC40
Full adjustable front and rear geometry kit (still looking for values ...), hi-los, braided brake lines, new KYB shocks (not high spec), A539 on 12/5" Révos
1275 electronic dizzy

I am now broke but contemplating :
lighten car
wrap exhaust
build cool can setup
install cold air duct
remove mechanical fan
built ducted rad setup
machine 2mm on discs (not on braking area !!!) and all rotating parts
install MJ (can i win some by altering timing with such a poor setup ?) can I set MJ on the road (not much rollers in France)
use 165 55 Yoko's ( I calculated a 3% shorter ratio), expense vs gain seems low on this one
buy and fit pressed steel 1300 rockers (am on sintered at the mo)

Maybe and a big maybe fit my Kent 256 'on car' (was saving it for proper fitment while rebuilding the turboed 998 to 1098, X-pinned, baffle plated central oil picked, better pistonned "evolution 2")

Also modify and fit a 12G202 but have to stick to low comp because I am to sell it to a friend for a 998 turbo conversion so 9 to 1 tops

What do you think ?

ANy more ideas ?

It is a small track so does not require high speed so maybe aero mods are not worth the hassle.

Thanks in advance.

Take as much out of the car as you can do and also get suspension setup properly, that way you can carry more speed round corners.

Adding mapped ignition should give you a bit more mid range and if you have a wild cam altering the ignition can help low power a lot. You will not gain any top end power though. It is worth doing anyway, just for the reliability and consistent spark aspect.

Have you had the car on a track before? If not I would just drive it as it is. You will soon find its weak spots and then you will know what you want to do. You could spend a lot of money on a 998 getting 5bhp, or save your money, turbo it, and gain a load.

i would concentrate more on reliability and suspension set up.

and enjoy it then think a bout more power.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

suspension set up wise, I asked about it a while back but nobody will agree on a starting point.

4.5° camber apprently does the trick but what about the other parameters ?

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
