Just thought i put some pic's of my miglia alloy dash build as i havent seen any other thread's on this i will be up dating this build as i go along. Any comments welcome:)

Out of interest, why do the miglia dashes have 'dimples' in them. For a little more rigidity?

The dash in mine has dimples (as does the parcel shelf,gear linkage bracket,boot floor etc) I had always assumed it was something Pete Vickers did as a sort of trademark if you like having seen them in lots of other cars he has done.Dont know for certain though.

I am going to add a dimple in the lower section of the dash to add a little strenght as i will be mounting things to it. ie wiring loom, fuse box.

Cardbord is proberly lighter than carbon fibre but wouldnt be the best fire wall!

Easy enough to make a dimple tool to save cost.

Thanks Paul,doesnt get much simpler than that! Do you need to have a flat area around the domed formers to stop the panel bending too much around the dimple if that makes sense?

That will depend on the material and its thickness.

The dimple will have to be pointing upwards (into the engine bay) as it would catch the pedal box.

Paul do you notice the large amount of wiring in my dash. This is why i had to re do it (what a mess)
