I found this fuel pump while searching for a cheap new one for the VW i just bought as a daily while the mini's down. Does anyone think it would work for turbo use, along with a FPR obviously.

no argument there, but I'm thinking of putting it on the vw, and when i get everything ready to go on the mini, swap it onto the mini.

The problem you might get is that it flows so much that the regulator will not be able to return enough fuel to the tank. This will cause havoc with fueling.

Maybe it's a bit different in the USA but over here we can pick up "standard" fuel injection pumps (which are fine on flow and pressure for the Metro FPR) for about £25 - £30 brand new. Un-branded but they work perfectly adequately.

It probably would, and I can get a standard injection pump for around there, I was just looking at dual use, as I could use it on the vw first, and then when I get the mini back to the point of putting that stuff on I was going to swap it over. If it'd be too much hassle I'd rather not though. I've thought about using newer style fuel lines, that actually lock onto eachother, can't remeber what they're called, so it wouldn't blow the lines. As far as the FPR, couldn't I go with a different one than most people are using and do it that way?

Couldn't I double FPR it also? One for normal boost conditions, that feeds the rising rate when I boost it? As it will be turbo'd eventually.

I would also consider cost. The pump linked above is $335. how much would it cost to buy two pumps, one suitable for each application? I'm guessing less. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Right now it's putting out about 130bhp, but I'm getting ready to throw in a 2.0l turbo motor, still probably overkill though. Just thought I would put it out there, just incase someone is interested then. You're right apbellamy, it would be cheaper, which is what I'm going to do I think, as it would make more sense....
