yes! in fact my preffered method of engne torque reaction restraint is to use two on the lower rear of the subframe to gearbox - minispares kits, the one at the front ofthe gearbox as std then the conventional side mount from the engine block. If you restrain the engine just at the top the motor can pivot around its "torque axis" under torque application causing the bottom of the motor to move on the subframe engine mounts - which appear very stiff at first glance in compression but are also very soft in shear (fore aft in car)

I recomend using 4 steadys, 2 at the top of the engine and 2 at the bottom going backwards, personally I leave the std one that goes forwards off, as i feel it fights the other bottom ones, but thats just me, what ever you do, ypou need somthing on the bottom. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:
