Not mine, but I thought it might interest someone.

That's fooking stupid. The compressor on the GT17 is perfect, if anything the turbine should be changed for a slightly smaller one.

Better to just use a GT17 IMO

Well I don't know the exact spec og this turbo, but the GT17 has an enormouse (although efficient) turbine. However the compressor appears to be extreemly effiicent fo our uses.

So for me a slghtly smaller turbine may be more bennefical than a change to the compressor. In fact the best thing about the 17 is the compressor, so seemes daft to bin it.

I would say though that running a smaller turbine MAY cause you to run into surge problems. Hense why I suggest just using the 17 as it is.

I'll be honest. I was interested in this for a road going 1310 turbo looking at 12-14psi but I reckon I'll just hold out for a GT17.

Out of interest how did you find the R5 T2 you used to run Wil?

It's a long story. But it came from someone on this forum.

There are other options to the GT17 I'm sure. Paul S has a GT20 for instance, although I son't know about the different types and availability.

This a picture of a T2 and GT17 side by side that I took some time ago.

You can see that the T2 wheel is a bit primitive like a pelton wheel and the GT17 has an advanced francis type vane design.

I expect that the would be some gains from the GT17 wheel, but only if is properly matched to the profile of the turbine casing.

Without the turbine curves, it is difficult to know how much.

That just looks like a mish mash of odd parts rather than a thought out solution.
