Hi fellas :) I've just bought this Metro. Can't get it on the road for a couple of weeks so really eager to know how it will perform.

Its got a 1275 MG engine, 4 branch manifold and Janspeed exhaust. I suspect cylinder head is not standard but cannot verify this yet.

Does anyone else have a similar setup and if so what sort of performance could I expect from it?:)

BTW, I'm aiming to take it to the rolling road session that being organised on here in early March 8-). Lets see if any of you guys can guess it's bhp correctly meanwhile *wink*

I'm hoping to get more than a standard MG Metro :).

There appears to be 4 seperate branches into 1 on the manifold but carbs in way for a better look!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

So.... you bought Nigel Mansel's old Metro then??

Exhaust looks like an LCB 3 - 2 -1 manifold.

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

With a stage 3 head, standard cam, a single HIF44 and a janspeed exhaust our metrovan made 78 (iirc) at the flywheel

Thats 78 mobile dyno banana's so probably inflated figures.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Thanks, guys :). Engine sounds pretty good, seems to rev easy and has only done about 43k so hoping it will give a decent reading on the rollers. 85bhp would make me a very happy girl indeed so fingers crossed....:)

I reckon if setup well 84 banana's at the flywheel. However when spring fresh I reckon it would have been in the mid 90's

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
