just bought a short metro turbo motor off ebay which has been rebored +20, would this make it 1293cc?, also it is using standard pistons (albeit machined down to take more boost) is this ok when engine has been bored +20 or is it just a case of using +20 piston rings? |

+.20 will be 1293 yes. I have heard of people using the larger rings on standard pistons, but i wouldn't have thought this is good practice, or a good basis for a reliable Turbo engine. There will be plenty of piston slap and blow-by i would think.

hmmm, it may be that something like this has happened then as the rings are knackered well, one is anyway on number 4 cylinder, bought the engine just for the box and drop gears, got plenty other bits on it too to make it worth it, may use the pistons in my own engine perhaps with standard 1275cc's |
