my mrs went to go out in her car earlier and nothing! its a 1998 mpi.

the immobiliser turns off but when the key is turned there is nothing. all the electrics are working, so its not the battery.

its dark out now so wont be doing anything tonight, but any ideas would be great to help me in the right direction when i take a look tomorrow afternoon.

the relays and fuses are all fine, it seems it could be the starter? put a screwdriver across the terminals and there was only a little spark and it didnt spin over.
but also the black box on the brake servo it clicking why i turn the key, is this the alarm/immobiliser ecu?

I found with ours that electrics would work even if the battery didn't have enough charge to turn the starter. I would double check your battery or try a jump start before taking it to bits.

mine clapped out one day, it was one of the big green engine compartment fuses. though you say you have checked these.

also had a problem like this on my old spi, one of the engine bay wires had rubbed though the casing causing it to short

green fuses are all ok, the battery is on charge now, so will see what happens tomorrow!

still nothing with a fully charged battery, the fuel pump relay on the brake servo is clicking when i'm trying to start it, could this be the fault?

does it have the Rover imobiliser? My sister has a 111 and if its not turned off it just clicks like a flat batt.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

it was the starter! the wire connecting the solenoid to the starter has rotted away.
