I just thought I'd give everyone an update on my general mini related progress.

I was thinking about doing some detailed technical posts about the conversions (4pots + verto to pre verto) and posting them (I have summarised in this thread) What do u guys think?

After my car broke down in Coventry a couple of months back (Thanks again for the trailer John to get me home!!!!!!*happy*) It has been off the road. I decided to use the holiday time and Christmas money to do a couple of upgrades:

I have upgraded my clutch and brakes. Stripped, checked and re assembled my engine, moved my gearbox to a new casing and rebuilt it properly this time !!!

My clutch is now: standard mini flywheel (preverto) with a verto ring gear on it. I have a standard back plate, grey diaphragm and fast road/rally plate. Changed the slave cylinder and clutch cover to preverto.

I finally got the rest of the parts I needed for my metro turbo 4pot + vented disk conversion. This consists of rebuilt metro turbo callipers, brand new standard vented disks (ebay for ?9 + ?4 postage A deal I think *happy*) Metro drive flanges machined flat (sticking out lugs don?t fit my 12" wheels) ERA calliper bolts and Goodrich hose conversion kit.

Also finally got round to getting the banjos to plumb the water cooled turbo in AND replaced the baulk rings and all bearings in my sc box when I rebuilt it into new case!

I certainly have had a busy week.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

My mate made me up a little pipe out of stainless steel which looks similar to the metro T3 item - just a little longer and uses the same bit of silicone pipe and enters the block in the normal place through the fuel pump.

I will get some pictures taken before I go back to uni this afternoon + get the walk throughs done for the FAQ section
