how is c.r calculated my c.r on my car is 9.4-1 so if i had my chambers enlarged to 27cc what does that make my new c.r and would it be lowerd enough to add a turbo to it anyony ????

Google CR there's lots of on-line calculators.

Presuming you have the standard chambers now (21.4cc) and as 9.4: will be fine for 10 or 12psi then a rough finger in the air would suggest that the 27cc chambers would allow 15+psi.

it is the ratio of the combustion space to the swept area plus combustion space of one cylinder,

so... if you have a 1000cc 4 cyl engine one cylinder will be 250cc, if that cylinder has 25cc space at TDC then the compression ratio will be 11 to 1

to calculate it take the swept area (250cc) ad it to the combustion space (25cc) and divide it by the combustion space (25cc) 250+25 (=275)/25= 11.... easy(second time round....)!
