Hi all

got out to the garage today. Mini still there which is nice. I'm currently trying to tidy up the wiring loom. With mega jolts, cooling fans, fuel pump, cd player and other thing all been added in there wires all over the place.
I've bought a new fuse box to replace the orignal and the extra I added in. The problem is I can't think where to hide it away. Needs to be a place that you can get to but look neat.
Any ideas?

Thanks

If you can get it in the cabin. Lots of space on the bulkhead.

i put mine just under the dash rail on the passengers side. away from all moisture and easily accessible.

I might be wrong but i think the mpi minis are located there too?

mpi's are on the drivers side.

Stuck mine in the LH glovebox, but an alternative would be under the LH dash parcel shelf.

Defo stick it inside the cabin somewhere, it'll save corrosion forming and be easier to replace blown fuses if inside rather than the engine bay.

Good luck.

Ooo that's what I wanted to do but I couldn't work out how I would get the dash out if I couldn't get my had in though the glove box to undo the bolts.
How have you made it removable??

Alex.

The combined fuse & relay boxes (from Vehicle Wiring Products) are mounted through a hole. The screws and all the bulk of the boxes are at the back and screw to the back of the new glovebox.

This is all made up first and then the dash is mounted as usual (bit tricky). As the dash is pushed into place, the new glovebox mounts via two dome headed socket button allen screws, one either side, into new blocks of wood bonded/screwed to the back of the main dash. The blocks contain captive nuts which the new allen screws easily screw into.

Needs some thought. You are correct, it's a bit tight if you have sausage fingers like me but the whole thing comes together just fine and you can reach the dash mounting wing nuts as long as your hands and arms are made of rubber !

I'll be on the Van stand at Bingley this Sunday if you wanna pop over and take a look.
