Hi Guys,

Just building my sccr box with all minispares components and when it comes to putting the lock ring for 3rd gear on the plunger/bullet jiggy thing does not compress down far enough to become flush with the shaft to allow the lock ring to slip over it.

I have comparewd to my old shaft and when the spring alone is in the hole it sits around a mm or so lower, so the spring is binding and not letting the plunger/bullet to go down low enough.....

any thoughts?

thanks

it was the layshaft that was made from chocolate. this now seems to be sorted though.

Sorry, never heard of your problem RED850

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall having dealt with the same problem. However, I cannot remember how I sorted it.
Shortened plunger, shortened spring or drilling the hole deeper.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Yes i know the layshafts are made from chocolate, but i think the mains are ok, I hope.

Vegard, i was thinking the same as its the only way to get by, i would say drilling would be ok as it is not a stressed area but it may have an effect elsewhere...
spring would be easy to cut a coil or two off or file down the plunger.

will keep you posted.

thanks as always guys
