Maybe not that exciting for some but I'm pretty happy. I finally got the Mini to a rolling road just to make sure the fueling and ignition curve are in the ball park before I do some miles. Everything went well except for things being a bit lean off boost and about 10:1 at 6psi. Got that tweaked and then the pipe to the actuator came off resulting in serious overboost and a IC hose popping off! No damage done and I think I'll rethink how I've plumbed in the actuator. Still, 146 curley whirlys at 3482rpm with way too much boost!

It's Nic's old one, basically a T2 from an R5GT with a reprofiled comp wheel and housing and 360 degree bearing. Mirage supplies them. Intercooler is a Cosworth 2WD, head is a Benross special with conserative porting and 33.3/29.5mm valves and cam is an MED one similar to the phase 2. I don't see me getting more than 140-150 bannanas on higher boost settings but torque should be good. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

That seems a good result, sound like a similar spec to mine as well. It makes the 4 hours I spent today sorting out my oil return seem a little more worthwile. |

Yeah it is! When it over boosted it must have run near 15psi for a few seconds and it sounded rediculously powerful. At least I have an idea now what it will be like when I hoik the boost up.
