Hey guys ... basically on e-bay a bought a really really trick digital Revometer and i really really want a digital speedometer to match ... i have found a really nice looking one right here guys but i have no idea if the sender they produce would fit on a metty turbo engine.

So i e-mailed saying this .....

"Hi, i am interested in purchasing an "Odyssey Series II Speedometer MPH,
Black Bezel" but am unsure that you make or if there is a sender availible
for a Rover Metro Turbo? Or if they are even compatible? If you require any
additional information about the engine/car i will be happy to give it to
you.
Thank you for your time
Yours sincerely
Jon. G"

to which they replied

"Jon,

We don't how the Rover sends the speed signal to the speedometer. If it is
cable drive our pulse generator might fit onto that.

If it is an electronic signal then you only need to tap into that wire for
the speedometer and run the auto calibration on our gauge."

any idea guys ? Do you think i can get this to fit my mini? Or do you have any additional info i could give the guys at dakota to help them help me? *happy*
I really really REALLY want that Speedo!

From their web site it looks like you'll need the sen-01-1 or sen-01-2 pulse generator.

These will attach to your spedo cable and produce the required pulse for the spedo to work (could be a laugh calibrating it though).

The problem is that the cable connections are for Ford or GM and will certinally need some bodging to get the mini cable to fit.

The other thing worth considering is finding out which Fords/Vauxhals have electronic speedos and robbing the sensor bits of the gearbox of one if they look like they might be able to be fitted to the mini box. No idea how these work so this may be impossible..

ahhh, very useful thank you :)

anyone else have any opinions/ideas?

Or even know of an digital speedo's that will fit?
I was tempted by the astra GTE dash ... see if i could take it apart until all i have left is the speedo and revometer bit ... not sure how easy it would be to seperate though
