Full width bulkhead box Q's

To anyone thats delved into a bulkhead box of the full width variety I was wondering if the box was fabricated to suit, or if its possible to purchase a box complete.

I've started cutting the bulkhead leaving about 10mm above the lip of the crossmember and slotting every inch or so down to nearly flush with the crossmember and welding to hold the layers of sheetwork. Not sure how much further to go without looking to whats going to go next to it, i've been looking through jimsters comprehensive online photobook which has been handy.


i've been offered possible opportunity to look round Paul Browns (aka brownspeed) curent Miglia through Mike Barrett that knows Paul, i'm not sure who's prepared the car as I believe Paul got it off someone else who was racing it, this might be helpful as to how exactly this area is constructed

any ideas appreciated?

or any links to some pictures of bulkhead boxes?

cheers for the reply akirch, it wasn't the box that goes into the cross member I was after, its a full box that goes above the cross member back into the car

good link that by the way for anyone wanting to know what a turbo bulkhead box looks like.

yeah i've seen them pics, might have to get some thick card and make some templates!

Dan - I was looking at a pic of Marks trailer on Richspecs 'my new car' thread in the show me yours section, and noticed his new car seems to have a full width bulkhead box.
