I've not had the opportunity to compare the two. It "feels" like a standard clutch, although the bite point is a bit too close to the floor.

The Minispares Ap 'turbo' clutch has a slightly thinner spring compared to a genuine AP Turbo clutch.

I know this as I am using one of each on my RTS. Might be a bit much lol. We shall see *happy*

You will only be able to find a genuine AP turbo clutch NOS The Minispares item is identified with a dark blue dab of paint while the genuine item is identified with a light blue dab of paint

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

cheers sprocket!

i think a replacement is going to be the order of the day unless i find a NOS one ,god-knows where to start looking for one?

gonna have a red of that link, cheers bud

i know minits had a uprated verto clutch made that has a bigger clamping force than the OE turbo clutch but i'm putting it in a metro which has a cable clutch & i think it may add too much stress to the cable! as the chap at minits said it had basicly double the strength in the spring plate!!!!!

he recommended that the OE replacent should be enough

anyhoo off for a read of said link

From what I have heard, the cable clutch isn't any good for anything other than a standard clutch. You are better off getting the hydraulic verto clutch parts from a MK 1 Metro.

I found the cable clutch useless, the self adjuster is made of plastic and fails. I have converted mine to hydraulic now

what was involved fellow metro dudes *surprised*P

if i have to mess around swapping clutch pedals i cant be bothered but if its a case of a slave cylinder & hydraulic clutch arm on the frying pan & adding a clutch cylinder i may be prepared to do the work

where do you put the clutch master cylinder as there aint much room on the metty next to the master cylinder/servo????

i'm tempted as i have a slave cylinder/verto-hydraulic clutch arm & a braided clutch hose from my mini?????

could i use a mini clutch master cylinder

any chance of a pic chaps with metros????

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

We did it on our van. You need the whole pedal box, base plate, master cylinder, slave cylinder and hoses

We are using a pre-verto clutch so ended up needing a custom hose as the metro master cylinder is M10x1 thread and the mini is 3/8 UNF

I'll measure it up when I'm home again. I know it was the 180mm not 190mm plate though.

Anything else you need that I may have?!

Are you talking about the friction plate? As everyone else on here is talking about the pressure plate*happy*
