Dave, why do you need to use a NA inlet manifold?

just the way the mirage one was made - the nat asp one has more clearance underneath

Personally, i reckon you get a better (read: more equal) mixture distribution with the horrible 'turbo' inlet manifold, but i guess mirage aimed it at parts that were available off the shelf...

so the plenium etc is the same excellent. Just what i needed to knwo. So really i can keep everything off the metro turbo and just change the turbo and the manifold. Thansk Dave (yes i did mean the t2 btw just getting mixed up)

Thanks

Dave. What you're saying is that if one I have a choice between the N/A inlet and the turbo one, I should choose the latter??

Wouldn't fuel mixture be equal when you get on boost anyway??

I think he means equally shared between the 2 ports, and then to the 4 inlet valves

nope the design of the ports, and inlet track doesn't change, niether does the firing order so charge robbing and unequal charge will still occure.

Got to agree with what Dave has to say regarding the T2.5, go for the Renault 5 spec T2 unit.

When we designed our manifolds we had in mind that you cant buy the turbo inlet new anymore. We designed it to take MG metro (an late cooper) style inlet and most of the aftermarket ones such as from Minispares. You can still use the turbo one if you have one.

Cant comment on wether the turbo style one has better charge distribution between cylinders as i never ran with one as it didn't look to me like a nice free flowing manifold.

Does anyone know if a t2 off an uno turbo is much different from the R5? At a glance the only difference I can see is the length of the output pipe on the compressor housing.....
The exhaust fitment looks the same 4 stud pattern
Hope it fits on the mirage manifold... :)

Wow this is an old thread.

We now do a hybrid turbo that uses a t2.5 bearing housing and modified t2.5 compressor with a t2 turbine. The compressor is reprofiled and the unit uses a 360deg bearing. These units are built for our application and is optimised to produce around 180 bhp.
