I always work on the gap being the same as the width of a pound coin and thats 3.1mm or as close as i can get it.

I have heritage panels, I know they are not cheap but I have had bad experience with repro ones in the past. Is it best to try the door without shims first or fit it with shims?

I always fit them without because i find they settle over time and need a shim or two to get them correct again. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. |
