Hi Guys,

just at the stage of the gearbox build where i put the pinion gear on the main shaft and what do you know the bastard will not go on far enough due to its diameter.

does anyone know if anyone makes a 3.2:1 CWP to suit A series remote box?

i do not want to go to rod change as they suck.

if not i may have to go back to a 3.44 diff and use different drop gears to get 3.2:1

any thoughts guys?

I had the same even with an (early) A+ box.

It's the bearing retaining plate, they made the bore of it larger for the later boxes that had larger pinions.

Otherwise it's identical, I just sourced one from a late A+ box but you can simply bore the one you have out slightly (or even grind it carefully) until the pinion runs inside it without rubbing.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

See other reply. The gearshift will be a bit strange with an A+ retainer on a remote box *wink*

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I ground/filed mine out to fit a 3.1.
