well first of all i thought id start a new thread about my clubman, i bought as a commuter car in a condition where it needed work the first month of owning it i fitted group 6 arches, welded up 2 repair patches at the back end of the sills for the subframe mounts and welded up the front wings where they was incorrectly fitted by the previous owner,
its had 2 repair pannels welded into the rear quarters too
its had all new boots, balljoints, cv, disks, pads, shoes, drums, headgasket, water pump, radiator

its spent the last 6 months 3 different colours

on the to do list (so far)

*new vented sills
*new pass floor pan
*new doorsteps
*replace that fooking tape player!!!
*custom dash
*tidy up boot
*new dash
*new bucket seat
*engine refresh
*spray
*regap the doors
*general de rust and rust proof the underside
* debumper the rear ( sorry john :))+ new valance (as the current one looks like its been welded on with a hammer...)

my budget is zero... i want to spend as little as possible its got to remain the daily although i bike to work in the summer time scale is ongoing the outcome.... well we will see *happy*

in 3 weeks time im off so the main welding will start then i have some pictures to up load when i find them

i have done over 10'000 miles in it already which is good going considering the noise the gearbox used to make its 100 miles off going round the clock*tongue*

Good stuff.

If you need any bits of front valance let me know. I'll be replacing mine and allthough it's far from perfect it's not rotten and will hammer back into shape if I take it off carefully.

Best IMO (front is already bumperless from the piccies anyway), it's somehow just cleaner lines.

Engine intentions ???

Bleargh @ de-bumpered! lol

You better put a big engine in it to make up for this!

for the engine IF it needs a rebore it will be 1360, tbh ive had the head off twice and the bores looked best ive seen with a decent head id like to play with efi on this one so not be too exotic ,
i am temped to fit my turbo lump in na form to this for running in and to give me time to build this minis engine

my other mini was de bumpered it does clean up the lines and the front bumper was removed when i put the arches on, it just didnt look right

That's de-seamed as well, something I might try on my second shell.

Looks even better if done well (as t@z piccy).

It's down to personal choice and how "discrete" (ie, sleeper) or how "obvious" you want it to look.

Good work on the car above. however the standard mini lights now look out of place. Maybe some mk1 lights would fit in better.

well first mile stone :) 11 n half hours worth

new a panel, repaired door step and half floor, rebuilt outer sill, i have an original style (repro) sill for both sides but after inspection the current sills (original) are still solid minus the rear subframe mounts i did last year, during the removal of the door i found the reason it was abit stiff*happy* the hinge is solid (absolutely) and the frame under the a panel was bending*surprised* good job i dont regularly carry passengers
