Can anyone help me with the procedure of doing the float level??
I did once upon a time have the SU rebuild instructions and can remember having to put the carb upside down, using a level and gently bending the brass tab to get the desired measurment!!! Thing is, i cant remember where the measurment has to be taken and what the measurment actually is*indifferent*

Many thanks

T3tone.

turn the carb upside down , the float is now resting on the seat under its own weight, hold a ruler across the bottom face running throgh the center of the float where it is 'hollowed' -or front to back axis- , this is the level ,bend the brass tang to correct the hieght

Excellent stuff, cheers Stu:)

Just to make sure i take it the hollowed part of the float has to be kissing the ruler or should there be a slight gap?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Let's be honest guys - 0.5mm or touching - if it's either one of them, you're unlikely to have problems. If you do - it's unlikely to be the float level!
