Its not an exact science, just make sure you have a nice angle on the cross member on the passenger side.

Just like this...

Pretty similar.

One of Jason's boxes.

I kept mine as far to the passenger side as possible to retain most of the re-inforcing ribs around the pedal box (only seen from inside the car, not in photo).

Stupid question: how do you do to put back the heater ? Or you don't care ?

Put some new brackets on the back of the box and move the heater a bit further inside the car....

In my case the box is from Jason on here and it is slightly deeper and with a sloping base - a better design if you're using a T3 - and yes, I made the brackets myself as one of the originals got destroyed cutting the hole......
I made them ever so slightly shorter to compensate for them being further back.

Or do what I did and add a 3 inch extension to the 'standard' bulkhead box to provide loadsa clearance for the actuator.

Also, if you add the brackets on the back of the bulkhead box and use a Mk1 heater with the vertical slider, it will not protrude past the bottom dash rail.

Have fun with yours *smiley*

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
