Ok long story with this car, originally got into minis, by chance, when I was 10. I kept pestering my dad about getting one, we looked at a few, but could never find one suitable. One day I came home from school and my dad and grandad took me out to the garage. There was my first mini, an 86 mayfair completely standard and completely rotten. Rescued from the scrappies for a grand total of £250 :)

I had the car a few years and messed about with it, my grandad teaching me small repairs as we went along. Then in 2002 I bit the bullet and stripped the car to a shell and had a local body guy restore it's metalwork.

The car got wings, a panels, full scuttle, doors, sills, inner sills, door steps, floor patches, boot floor and rear valance. As I had run out of money the project stalled. Foolishly I bought a 1293 hillclimb car and sold the car as a rolling shell :(

Had several minis after that but then my grandad passed away in 05 and I thought I'd love to get it back as we had such good memories with it. Tracked it down and did the owner a deal for a RSP I had at the time.

Looked a bit different to when I sold it but was glad as it was still solid and had been painted a light blue (my usual hue for projects :) ) It was a long way from my taste but I had big plans.. 1st of which was a plaque on the dash in memory of my grandad.

Here it is when I got it back :)

Made a few quick changes to the car until I could put my plans into action

Fast forward to last summer and the car had really started to take shape :)

The car is currently undergoing a few changes as below :) Fitting of polycarb windows, KAD bonnet and MK1 Grille. Bonnet is now away for paint and the rear quarter poly windows are being stickered to match the old glass. Inside fitted new trigger hand brake and waiting for my carbon doorcards arriving :)

The plan is for a fast road/track car :) Some of you may have seen it at IMM lol

Here is the current full spec, although I am just about to start buying bits for a turbo build :) Aim to get the car featured if it's ever worthy :)

Nice...I can't argue with any of the changes you've made so far. I'd of done exactly the same tbh. :)

Big question...is it going to be turbo'd?

Haven't been on here in a while

Here is car now, failed MOT on friday past for a headlight and no rubber on my brake pedal ffs!

Had a run in Jay's turbo mini though and totally convinced of 100-120bhp small turbo is the way forward

On a weight saving mission now, time to get the drill and hole cutter out lol
