have had a word with stuart at vmax and im swaying towards getting my car turbo'd instead of supercharged.... the engine at present is a mg metro 1275 with vmax road plus head, stage 1. other than all the bits and bobs that need changing for it to work, how well is it going to perform?people say itl just blow up in a few days....a de-comp plate will be used to lower the cr. ive asked stuart but i dont wanna keep hassling the poor bloke,

your advice please guys!

thanks, dan

Personally, I'd source a good, running 1275 from a metro, and use that as my base.
The MG lump is 10.5:1 CR I believe, which has smaller dish pistons to the 9.75:1 standard 1275.
A decent 'chambered' head from Vmax will enable you to up the boost sufficiently to have some fun!
If you want to go further, then you need a new set of pistons and a re-bore. You can't go far worng with the Minispares 'mega' range - these are based on the 'indestructable' metro turbo piston. But we're now getting towards spending at least a grand on a short engine and head.
