is it possible to use a bini supercharger on a 998 engine? can anyone see any problems with it?

would the blower be too big for the engine

could a vmax kit be adapted for the 998 engine

any comments appreciated as i would love to make a small bore supercharged screamer.

yeah anythings possible, ive already asked stuart as i wanted to get the misses's 998 done, he said its possible probably talkin 90bhp tops on a stage 1 mini, decent head.but not worth it when you can get a cheap 1275 and get over 100bhp... (his words) which is true

i guess but its something different isn't it. its far more simpler to just drop a standard 1275 in and do a few mods but its not much of a challenge and not much of a talking point when you open the bonnet! i think i may still be heading the way of a 998sc

interesting that Vmax said its possible though. good news

750cc pass, same as a shorrock. Should be fine, unless you get low speed passing, which I don't think you do. It is harder than it looks to do it yourself.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

i thought it would be quite a hard job to do which is why i was wondering if the Vmax kit could be adapted. same love_machine as pistonheads??? hows your kit going

hi,
yes i can make a kit for the 998 with a suitable 295(33x 29 ul ,chamber cc to suit ) head, to add about 40 bhp
the cost is ?1750 for all parts needed (head , manifolds ,charger, carb, filter, cables gaskets ,fan, head studs , nut and bolts, brackets , tensioner, belts, pulleys ,adj. steady, non exchange)

I'd have thought you'd be best sourcing a 12G295 (?) head - as fitted to the 998 coopers. These have a massive chamber volume, as the 998 cooper motor had 'raised' pistons.

It's also a REALLY good head, far better flow than a 998 one!

Means you get to keep a good combustion chamber shape, and have a low CR!

Search on Ebay, they're always coming up. Some still ask silly prices, but as hardly anyone tunes 998's anymore, they tend to go for little money (I sold a ported one without valves for ?35 around 8 months ago).

low comp pistons not ness, but if your pistons are dished i can mod the head to suit either , you will need a suitable fuel system capable of supplying enough fuel though
