Ebay special - Good running engine

Well i brought this a while back but have only just gort round to having a play with it, when it was on ebay it was sold in good running condition and had just been removed from the car, so i through i would buy it incase my engine goes bang, but as im not using the mini atm i thought i would strip it down to give it a quick check over.

So i whipped the head off, all looked good, turned the bottom end over, all still looked good untill piston 3 reached the top of the bore, then continued up and out the block:



So i pulled the piston out and there was no end cap there atall, and the conrod bold had bent, ending the conrod a bit making the conrod now scrap.




So im going to strip down the rest of the engine to see if there are any otehr horrors to rind, im just happy i never actually fitted it as it would have been a massive waste of time, and i cant even really go back to the seller now as iv had it for quite some time.

what a cock. to jaz your auction up a bit is understanderble, but this could have caused someone hell of a lot of time and money if used as it was..

Yea pissed off to say the least, luckly it hasnt damaged the bore atall somehow though.

But ill see soon see what damage the end cap has done falling into the gearbox, etc...

It also confused me a bit as all the threads on the conrod bolts are still in good condition...

take the engine back or the broken parts & put them through the window!
