how much waxoil into a mini?

its getting to a point where i needed to waxoil my mini before assembling certain parts of trim. the waxoil was setting in the gun as i was squirting it (kept the cannister in a bucket of hot water)

so decided to waxoil the car with a piece of hose and a 50 ml syring (yes i know!)

i ended up taking a good few hours, but used the best part of 8 litres

surely this isnt normal? i masked up the sill vents, when i took the masking off and stuck my finger in there it seems the sills are now solid filled with waxoil. not ideal i know, but when it warms up it should start to drip out!

also drilled from the inside of the car to the area under the front scuttle corners and waoiled them. its all fresh metal there so thought i better had. then blocked it off again with a small gromet.

i usually put the tin on a low heat on a little camping stove! works a treat

i've put about 10 litres of waxoyl in my mini! but i'm a bit overkill

you can brush it on the areas you have access too!

anther method is leave a heatgun/paitstripping gun on a low heat facing the can!

it keeps the wax from setting & works well!

it was setting pretty much as it hit the metal.as i said it was a bit cold but it was getting to a point that i would have to stop work on the car and wait til the weather warmed up before i could do anything else

yes it's normal i used 4 or 5, 5 litre cans on mine.

did you do underneath/outside? only did the interior of mine. guess it looks messy when all of the crap from the road sticks to it

yep inside/outside/underside! dont forget to all the box sections like the crossmemeber sills, scuttle panels which can be acccessed from the ending bay,

feel around youl find the hole LOL

everywhere you can squirt that stuff

i sound like a right pervert!

dont worry about it going hard in the cold we have at the moment, it'll dribble down all the surfaces when the weather warms up,

either way your giving it the protection it needs
