Hiya i have a metro turbo engine with avonbar phase2 cam ans ported head. Its running the standard t3 turbo but is a bit tired.

Renault5 t2 and most t3's are getting old now and are old technology really.

So what production cars turbos are people using and finding good i dont mind doing some re sculpting and manifold mods or making a complete manifold. If any ones got any opinions please let me know what the turbo is and from what make/model.

off saab 93, as i understand with a few modification it will fit to a metro manifold

What sort of power do you run / are you after.

The GT1548 is another option for lower power applications than the GT17.

cheers for your posts i had read a bit about the gt17 somewhere i will have a look out for one.
cheers wil_h i haven't heard about that turbo what sort of power figures are achievable it might be more suited to my other project. what car is it from Thanks james

Been looking at this turbo on ebay there's an eco one I believe. is this the right or wrong one.

Gt turbos are garrett jobbies, the gt15 is good for about 130hp i think thays what they run on the oily pugs anyways vnt as well *smiley*)
