There is lots of different opinions on what these engines actually where. Some say they had hybrid turbos, some say not. I know they had undercrown cooling, as I have seen one of there blocks. This alone makes me think that there were running pretty hight boost (around 20psi???)

my understanding of a hybrid is that it is stronger than a standard turbo, they use different turbine wheels dont they?? and i think they have 360degree bearings and can handle higher boost pressures, im sure someone will correct me lol A-series power! 1972|1310|T3 turbo|Omega pistons|Cantre main strap|Orange clutch diaphragm|AP race plate|Comp pressure plate|Lightened steel flywheel|13-row oil cooler|Vernier duplex timing gear|Phase 2 Piper cam|Green air filter|Hi boost carb needle/spring|2"Stainless exhaust|3"Play mini stainless rear box|Jack Knight s/c 4spd gearbox|Jack Knight s/c drop gears|Silicon coolant hoses|Lumenition HT leads|GAZ lowered height shocks all round|Steel flip-front|Rear safety devices cage|Group 5 arches|6x12 deep dish Minilites|Surf blue/Old english white| |

generally speaking its the internals from a bigger turbo in the casing of the smaller turbo.. so it can flow higher powers but have less lag. |

I was told by a reliable source that they used a standard T3, apart from a 360 thrust bearing. This was from an ex Howley employee who actually built and raced the engines.
