You can cut out the overhang of the seat base but underneath the rest of it is the subframe, so you can't

It would be much easier to just throw away your front passenger seat. that way it will take you about 5 minutes to do the 3 seat conversion On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

That is very different and a good way to allow for a fellow in the back and 4 or 6 points seat belts in the front.

Its been done before, seen a mini ages ago, although he was using cobra clubmans.
