Contemplating shedding some weight from my front & rear subframes.

Are there any areas I need to avoid? obvs. I won't go mad, maybe some photos of your lighter subframes would be cool.

Thinking along the lines of the MOT bloke and what he'll allow.

Swap your rear subframe for a rear beam

Rear subframe16kg

rear beam 6kg

titanium rear beam 3.6kg

Sound deadining, 10kg

throw it away & be 10kg lighter, What!!??

Nah too costly at the moment, I've already taken out the sound deadining. 1 piece FG front, FG boot.. won't be having rear seats.

Will be an everyday drive so I'm not keen on perspex windows either.

Paul - How far do you think you could go with out upsetting the MOT man?

I know that's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string?' question, but mine is fairly friendly and is mini friendly (he also passed the metro van first time *Confused* ).

EDIT: I mean about lightening subframes, I don't mean giving him a slap or sleeping with his wife or anything...

Mine above always passed but he did say that if theres any questions Im to say it was done after he passed it.

If you can print off those pics, take them to the MOT man and ask him.
