Bit pissed off. Bought this off some ebay tosser who described it as very good condition all working fine bullshit etc etc

Further to this the exhaust studs are snapped off in the housing and it has slight play in the shaft. Fucked!

Can this be repaired? If so where can I get this done and how much is it likely to cost??

Can anyone on here take on a turbo rebuild including compressor wheel?

jesus Mark, that makes the shitter I out bid you on look almost worth keeping! haha. Still, you got lucky not winning the one I did, play in the shaft in both directions.

Prawn. Reading one of your other posts you've bought the same Turbo as I just sent back to the seller on friday for a refund !!!! Massive radial & axial play, yet described as reconditioned & only 1000 miles. With I'd known earlier & I could have warned you.

Wow, my claim to fame, I have owned a turbo that has been owned by turbo phil! I feel so lucky.

Seriously, I've had a shitty e-mail back about it, getting angry because I've caught him out by looking back through his feedback, and he's refusing to give me a refund unless paypal decide it.

I may be repairable but I'd say only by a turbo reconditioners,

it will obviously need a new compressor wheel,

what does the exhaust wheel look like? and is there loads of play? (i assume so..)

Mark, send it back to him. Preferably out your car window as you drive by his house. It's scrap. Prawn listed prices of an outright purchase GT1752 and a repaired one. The difference was only about £150. That assumes the turbo is a serviceable unit, which that is not.

Don't the saabs have crap hoses/filters that allow a load of crap into the compressor side and the above happens??

Prawn, report him to ebay as he know's it's fooked and he is selling it again with a bad description. Bet he bought it himself without knowing!

It seems the SAAB 9-5 and 9-3 have some issues with the GT1752 intakes *hehe!* this is all too common, though the one I have only has damage on the impellor tips and not so much axial play, but enough to need a rebuild. I bought a good used impellor, well better than the one I have. so hoping I can rescue it for at least 3000 miles.

well this moved fast.

opened a dispute with paypal. Then got 4 emails of abuse telling me / paypal that i must have caused the damage and that i have tampered / taken the turbo apart?! it was fine when he sent it etc.. then that he will take pictures of the item on return if it differs to what he sent.

what a cock.

then another email from paypal saying that im eligible for the refund if i send the part back.

winner.

Need to provide tracking info when i send it back to the tosser so parcel force should be the way forward.
