Brought a mini off a hill billy said it was 1966 mini but i'm not sure hasn't got number plates or logbook got the car slam plate pu 12308 it hasn't got things like the early lights on the back, and the subframe looks like the later one, but it has mark mk1 doors.

I dont really know what to do rang dvla and got to go local office they said and see if the number on record.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing. The other option is to go to Gaydon and have a look through their records. As with any mini what came out of the factory is not often what you buy these days.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

You go to the Gaydon Museam with what info you have, ideally a V5, and they have all the Austin, BL, Rover, etc books that hold the info you need in their archive. I would give them a call and see if they can help.
