I've gotta make use of my Uni's 3d Scanner for my Design and Protoyping module so I was gonna scan (and if I can twist the lecturers arm a model) of a spare MPI head.

The scanner is only a desktop one, but it's a nice piece of kit.

What else would be a handy thing to scan?

If I have it - I take it in.

I wonder how many people have misused it to scan a body member?

You know, I was thinking that as well - wouldn't do my cock, but there are few nice lassies at my Uni.

Think it would make for an interesting self shot!!

scan an alloy 4 pot caliper, can it do things like that?

scanning a built up gear cluster would be cool, or an open dif?

Playtex have used these before - I remember reading about it in an article on the scanners. No pictures were included, and it was only a passing comment on the variety of what can be scanned...

Sounds great - I don't have a spare 4 pot and taking one off the MPI would be a pain in the backside to do at Uni - got a standard one - might give that a go.

I agree the gears and/or open diff would be well cool. I'll have a rake and see what I have.

A rack wouldn't fit as a one piece, but it could be done in sections and merged - do have a spare one tho'.

I've only just started using the sanner, but it's a great piece of kit - has many useful applications - reverse engineering for one.
