The old dear is looking at getting a 60K 2002 Merc, its a minter with fsh, but just wondering if you guys have any thoughts on these motors, never had much to do with them, what should I look out for?

Any input appreciated

Joe

not sure but the E and C on the autos which most of them have share the cooling for the box and engine is in the same rad.. when the plate between the two rusts its new box time... Look for a Valeo rad sticker on the top common between 02-04

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Rust! All Mercs pre 2004 to 1996 made of biscuit tin with no rust protection as a cost saving measure (which turned out not to be funnily enough!) Goodwill pays out up to 8 yrs old - 30 year body warranty not worth a light unless full MB history!
