Hey everybody :)

I've not been on here for a while but thought I'd show my face again...*happy*

I was originally dead set on doing the turbo conversion to my J reg Mini Cooper, but kinda lost the momentum when the Mini came of the road with a failed brake master cylinder. I'd already bought pretty much all the bits I needed for the conversion and was just about to start when the brakes went, so swore profusely at the little bugger and shoved it into the garage with best intentions of making her better than ever - turbo style!

All the bits were bought. Tools at the ready. But...

I had to study for my exams (was training as an Independent FInancial Adviser). This meant that months went by without me doing anything, and I was bored to death driving my Mum's old Mitsubishi Colt. Anyway, the insanity finally took hold and I went out and bought a Skyline GT-R. Ho hum...*tongue*

Now with a 400bhp Skyline to fiddle with, a house to decorate and a dog to walk (as well as the usual work, eating, sleeping, etc...) I simply haven't got the time to do the conversion *frown*

This means that I have, amongst other things, the following stored away and will probably sell rather than see them gather dust for another couple of years:

- Metro Turbo engine & gearbox, still on front subframe. Engine was taken from a rotten Metro Turbo shell, I have the DVLA registration docs etc. Engine ran fine and dandy when car was parked up (but I haven't run the engine myself). Car stood for 6 months, then I came along with a big angle grinder and performed surgery to remove just about everything from the car. Engine has been partially stripped (still have all the parts though) of manifolds, turbo, rocker cover etc. The engine managed to topple the engine crane it was on (my trying to wheel it over uneven paving slabs - *d'oh!* - which smashed the dizzy cap and the carb. Have acquired replacement carb and dizzy but not fitted). No other damage to engine and crank turns fine with everything moving smoothly as it should do...

- T3 turbo from above engine. No play in shaft, no visible oil leaks. (like a divvy I threw the turbo elbow away as I left it attached to the old exhaust!).

- ECU

- OE Wiring loom (what a feckin mess!! Liek a giant ball of wires and bits of plastic!!)

- Mirage manifold set for T2 turbo (still brand new and unused - the turbo mounting flange on the elbow will need one hole to be redrilled/enlarged as Mirage got it slightly out of position. They have offered to do it for nowt but I never got round to sending it back... not a big job though... This is a GREAT bit of kit - excellent quality!)

- Adjustable top engine steady - cost ?26 new (to lean the engine forward a couple of degrees, so that the T2 turbo has clearance on the bulkhead)

- Full polyeurathene solid bush set for front subframe

- Fuel filter

- 3 T2 turbos in various states of repair (1 in pieces, 1 with cracks in casting but good internals, 1 with solid castings but graunches a little when spun - I think there are enough good bits between them to build a single good turbo, but would recommend getting this done, and possibly dynamically balanced, by a turbo expert before use just to be safe)

- Spare Metro turbo gearbox - cost ?120

- Exhaust gasket (new & unused)

- 3 meters or so of reinforced fuel line plus a bunlde of fuel line clips

- T piece for fuel return

- OE Fuel pressure regulator

- OE fuel pump

- OE ECU

- Brand new Le Mans dump valve (anodised blue) plus kevlar diaphragm

- Used RS turbo intercooler

- Used Renault 5 GT Turbo oil cooler

- Reconditioned 2CV ignition coil. This has TWO output terminals (as opposed to the usual one terminal) which means that if you have a twin-pipe exhaust and fancy being naughty and having a few flames, you only need a simple switchable power feed to this coil and you can use it to fire two spark plugs (one in each exhaust) without the need for any kind of distributor.

I probably have other bits as well but that's just from memory (and it's cold, dark and wet outside so I ain't going to the garage to have a look!). Obviously I'm gonna be selling pretty much all of this lot...

Before I advertise it in the classifieds just want to ask if you think I'll be better advertising all the bits seperately or simply putting the whole lot up for sale as a package?

Jim
PS. Any idea what the individual bits are worth or what the whole package would be worth??

Just realised that non of these posts answer your question ... well not directly anyway lol
Your best bet is to sell everything seperately...
As you can see there will be a lot of interest on here...........
ps I'll have the mirage setup *wink*

Good point!

No doubt your PM inbox is full already!

but for the best prices, sell them on ebay. They're worth whatever someone will pay for them - and on ebay this is well over the normal price!

Yes agree with Dave, you can get silly money for things on ebay.

Wowzer!! Thanks to everyone who PM'd me! LMAO - most popular I've ever been! *wink* Yeah, I know what you're saying about ebay but it's alot of hastle compared to offering the bits on here *happy*

Ok - I've decided that rather than selling all the bits seperately I'll group things together into "packages". Will go and set up a proper "For Sale" thread in the appropriate section and post the link here when I'm done...

Keep the whole 'turbo engine' together as one and do a 'buy it now' for ?500 on ebay. I'll be gone in a few days.
Guaranteed.
