Anybody using the cheap alloy Hi-lo kits you can get ? Are there any issues or are they ok ? Am I better off paying the extra and getting the genuine ones ?

Phil.

I know people who have used the cheap Huddersfield ones and they've collapsed/broken - but I've also known of people having no issues with them. Personally though I'd probably go with the Minispares or Minisport ones.

had them in mine for ages, only real trouble you get is the donut corroding onto them and the threads rusting up if they're not copper slipped.

I've got cheapo ones on the British Open, drilled at tapped them to fit grease nipples and not had a problem.

i hate minisport, but admittedly their hi los are good, sadly you have to use their own oversize knuckles with them...they dont miss a trick

the base of the proper ones (minispares) are larger giving a more progressive behavior on the springs. Or so they say

might have changed the design then, but the minisport ones ive had need a knuckle with a stem of much larger diameter

I've used mini sport ones on the front of mine for 6 years and still work a treat. Just use plenty of copper slip when putting it together! Last year I machined a inch off them so I could get the front lower! Ron

I use the Minisport ones. Had them for about 12 years with no issues.

Didn't come with knuckles. The rear subframe will be coming out again at somepoint, so I will be tripple checking the fit... The knuckles where genuine ones.

I guess the doughnut remains the same, but the compression of the suspension is more progressive *wink*
I've heard that some say that this is unmeasurable as well, but remember the Placebo.

For my cars I've had to machine the original Hi-Los as well, but that was because I've fitted red spot cones.

This is the kit I bought, but back then it didn't include the knuckles (Although now they are pictured, but not listed).
