I think one missing from your list is: 'Find a car with similar HP to what you want and investigate the turbo fitted'. I think this is where many people start and where the R5 T2 and GT17 came from. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder. On 15th Aug, 2011 robert said:

I ticked the first one, but maybe better to put 'pretend to...' in front. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

i used to just go for whatever turbo i guessed would suit then tried bigger and smaller turbo's in the range till i had a happy compromise of lag and power. Now i have chose a turbo based purely on calculations, sadly there quite uncommon in this country but interesting to see if it works or not lol Edited by evolotion on 10th Mar, 2010. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

I'd like to be able to do all the calcs, but it's beyond me as I have no in depth knowledge of the topic,
